It has been some time, too long really, since we have corresponded. I have been studying the Systems Approach to Vedic Astrology for about 10 years, as time permits, which isn't as often as I would like given my responsibilities at the University. However, this semester I am on sabbatical and apart from working on a research project I have been able to dive deeply into the Systems Approach and have received some extremely good feedback from clients on the quality of my analysis of their natal charts using the Systems Approach, which has pleased me no end.

I gave my copies of your books to a colleague in another state and now regret my generosity so I need to purchase them over again. I was delighted to see that you have authored a relatively new book on financial astrology. As a professor in the School of Business I can't wait to read it. About how long does it take for twelve-book set to be delivered to the United States?

Second question, I noted on David Hawthorne's web site that he is a member of The System's Institute of Hindu Astrology. I just checked your web site and can't find a link to join the SIHA. How do I petition for membership?

My last questions are about the certification exams. I have been reading your online lessons, along with repeating David Hawthorne's online video course. To schedule your certification exams do I just pay the fee when I am ready? Also, should I surprise myself and pass the exams, what certifications or degrees are awarded?

I really hope that our communication is more fluid. It's so good to know that there are other business professors who also love systems astrology. I still hope to some day find an excuse to visit India and you.

My name is Alvin .... and I have been studying SATVA on my own through your books and Mr Hawthorne's book for more than a year. I'm really impressed with the system as I've studied various astrology methods in the past 10 years but none is as accurate as what I learned in this past 1 year. I have a few questions to ask though:
1. Why no substitute gems are recommended, only the main gems? e.g. emerald but not peridot. Other astrologers will usually recommend affordable gemstones as an alternative.
2. Why fasting based on planetary days is not mentioned as a remedy?
3. In your book, it was said that a kavach can be kept in the wallet or handbag if not worn but is it proven to be still effective?
Thought of getting one for my wife but she won't want to wear it. so carrying it in her purse is the only option.
4. Can I know the areas or syllabus of the certification exam? at least an idea what to study for it. i thought of having at least a foundation certificate will be useful for my credibility. But I worry my knowledge is up to the standard and wasted my money if I can't pass it.

Just to mention my case. Since many years trying to understand Horoscope reading, read many books, software use, internet, Internet groups emails, joined correspondence course even but failed to understand/read the horoscope, It seemed, its impossible to understand even basics.
By chance, once I was passing through chawari bazar market (Old Delhi), 3-4 years back, when I travelled from Huda Metro station to Old Delhi just for a merry trip, I enquired from a book store shop any interesting Astrology book, he shows 10-12 books and it happened that out of these 5-6 books were written by VKC/KRC and looked interesting and recommended by shop keeper, but at that time I was not aware of SA, I bought 5 books and came home, i started with "Self Learning Course in Astrology". And then found all other books were interlinked and overlapping and came to know about SA and read all the books and gradually I could understand basic concepts and concrete procedure about reading a horoscope.
Thanks a lot for helping in giving insight and direction to read charts. This is just my interest and hobby in this field and also writes computer app on astrology that also as a hobby only. Interestingly, I was writing code to generate horoscope, but was not able to read/understand the chart my self. For this group members, members can ask copy of apps on astrology also for iPhone. (few copies were distributed few months before) Then last year, i learnt about your book "Triple Transits". I ordered that on some site and got copy by Post. (But due to some printing few pages were missing and some other pages were duplicate, any way that is very small issue).
I tried to search your books in local city, but could not find. I would like to know, is there any shop in gurgaon, where I can buy your books.
Thanks again for helping me and many others to understand the astrology in simple manner, which was like a distant dream before.

Dear Prof Choudhry,

As you may recall, in Nov 2013, you predicted that this may be a difficult year for my wife, due to Scorpio ascendant and afflicted Mars in her sub period. Based on this advice, I have ordered the SGS services every month for her, and most months for myself. (Based on the good results, I have recently decided to order the SGS services for both of us, every month, regardless of any other considerations.)

Regarding specific details, there have been several minor instances where I felt that the kavach and SGS were definitely a benefit to us. But one major event that comes to mind was that in late January, my wife had a serious fall. Everyone witnessing the event were shocked and deeply distressed in the certainty that she was badly injured, or worse. But miraculously, she landed in just the right way and absorbed the blow without more than a bruise on her thigh. She got up and carried on as if nothing had happened. I have some positive feedback for the special power kavach we started wearing from 28th June this year (myself, my wife and my daughter).

1. Myself - disturbing dreams totally stopped, less lethargy and more vitality, digestion is good, optimistic. (am running Jupiter sub period since April last year, in Jupiter main period; Ju in 10th house Aries; Cancer asc)

2. Daughter - she is a teenager, there were some negative friendship influences which are not there now, less lethargy, a bit more focused on studies than before. I feel the SPK wearing was timely because her Rahu sub period begins this year Dec end (strong Rahu in 8th house Leo afflicts malefic Sun in 12th having debilitated depositor Ju; Capricorn asc)

3. Wife - she escaped an accident in the kitchen on 12th Aug. (Her afflicted Sun's sub period started end of this July, old/weak Sun in 2nd house conjunct by old Ketu within orb of 2 degrees and old Rahu in 8th; Cancer asc) The stove flame became big when she removed a vessel from the burner but the flame extinguished when it touched her silk. There was lot of gas smell in house when I came in a few minutes later. Her blood pressure rose since early Aug and she went into depression in Oct forgetting herself and others, then got admitted in hospital for a week. Now she is fine. Relationship between her and my parents came to normal after a year.

Am getting very interested in astrology and my study in astrology is progressing well and am able to work out transit effects also a bit. But there are so many case studies and rules but after about 6 months I plan to write exam for certification. Thank you for your great books and supplying the SPKs.

During mid-Jan I purchased your 10 books after coming across your website accidentally. I was fortunate. I am happy to say that I finished reading your first book a few times (Self learning course in astrology). Your language is excellent. Am able to do basic analysis of horoscope. This is the first time I am learning astrology. I know I have to study all your books for many more months, get certified and then only claim myself as an astrologer. But I am able to logically understand and apply your methods. One challenge is the many rules to remember, but I believe practice will overcome it.

My son is going to England ...Cambridge for his Masters funded by Bill and Milinda Gates Scholarship Grant.

This is Venu here. My sister has been wearing the SPK com GP provided by you since 2009 experiencing very good results and got married in February this year. She conceived in March this year.

I wanted to check with you regarding a suitable time for my sister's delivery. The due date was today and it was expected that it would be natural. Most notably, my stomach / blood sugar problems have virtually disappeared. The low grade anxiety/ depression I have lived with much of my life has also improved.

While my chart undeniably reflects my life, I honestly doubted any benefit from remedial measures.

It has been about three weeks since using your service to propitiate malefic planets and I have noticed a difference. Crows also (unusually) land on my fire escape almost every day and I feed them as per your recommendations. However, this is inconsistent as I travel regularly.

I would like to continue using your service in India every month until you decide its not necessary to continue.

Do I need to re-order this service every month or can you just charge my credit card on a certain day every month?

As my time is coming to an end with your Graha Shanti services, I just wanted to briefly share with you an update. Even though there were times I was ill or having other problems, I really feel your services have protected me a great deal in the past 3 months.

On the first day of the services I did feel an extra blanket of astral protection embrace me along with my own performances of the remedies. Also I have noticed that I was able to work through the challenges that did come up during this time much easier than in the past.

I understand that even though people may be having the same rising sign with a close MEP, one must consider the placements of the planets and timing of events, but I found this following situation interesting and wanted to share it with you:

I have two friends that I know to be Virgos and they both have MEPs very close to 9 degrees. Both have better charts than I do with regard to some stronger natal benefics and better placements of some natal malefics and both are in benefic/benefic periods of time.
One friend does the SA remedies and has gone through the past 3 months well with their use in his life.
The other friend does not do the SA remedies and recently has been very ill with a lung infection. She now is having some bad reactions to the antibiotics that she had to go on. I feel so sad for my friend because she knows about the SA, but I am hopeful that she will embrace its knowledge and remedies someday.

This experience just verifies even more my feelings of gratitude for your Graha Shanti services ... I definitely plan to use them again in the future (especially when debilitated Ra/Ke go stationary near my MEP).

As I am considering refreshing my Kavach protection with the purchase of a newer one, would you be so kind as to explain the difference between the regular Special Power Kavach and the Special Power Ganesha Kavach? Which one would recommend to someone with a Virgo lagna chart? I am also asking because I have always had a strong affinity to Ganesha, and have used the Gum seed mantra in most of the mantras I have ever chanted... Your thoughts on this matter would be deeply appreciated.

You remember that last year a power Kavach was made and given to 11yr. old Sóley to wear, as a gift from her grandmother. Sóley has Virgo ascendant. My views of the future are substanially improved now and I feel comfort. I ´ve been severely afflicted by Rahu some time ago but that is all over now. I think I get more help from Jupiter now also as it is in the 10 th house Cancer in my natal chart and transitting that sign presently.
The Kavach must add a lot that also (although infancy 60%). My Rahu main period will start in February and the coming years will show whether the Kavach will reduce upcoming transit afflictions. I am convinced it will to a great extent. However I better see to propitiating him and probably my Mercury too would need the same as it is exactly on my ascendant.
How do you pronounce Kavach. The ending ch like in Charlie I gather?

I had been unemployed for a while and finding a job was extremely difficult. After two weeks of wearing it I found the job I had "wanted"...not just any job! I've been at this company for a year now and continue to enjoy working with my co-workers.

Life hasn't been "a bed of roses" all the time, especially the last couple of months, but I believe if I didn't have it perhaps things would have been alot worse! I would hate to find out.

However, if we only had positive events in our lives, how could we evolve spiritually? There is a need for everything in life, good and bad, so we can learn and grow positively. But the power of the Kavach softens negative influences, and makes them lighter than they would have been otherwise. It does this just by strengthening the positive planets we were uniquely born with. This is what I've learned from my very own experience.

Wearing a Kavach has been one of the best things I ever did for myself. I'll always recommend it to anyone.

The Kavach is an "astral remedy" and as the name suggests, it works in the "astral" plane. As many members are probably aware, the universe is made up of several planes. Our world is in the physical plane. There are a couple of planes below ours and several planes exist above our physical plane. The astral plane is just above the physical plane with the mental plane being a step higher. More information on these various planes of existence and other such matters can be found at: http://www.theosociety.org/ Whatever happens in the physical plane has to first manifest in one of the higher planes.

The workings in the astral plane can be best understood if the person explaining and the person being explained to, are both in the astral plane. Being in the physical plane, it will be difficult for anyone to explain or anyone else to clearly understand how the Kavach works because the Kavach operates in a different plane; the astral.

Can I give an analogy to explain this? For persons existing on 2 dimensions, the concept of "height", "depth" and "thickness" will be difficult to understand or explain. But for people like us who live in a 3 dimensional world, such concepts are very clear and simple. Similarly, from the physical plane it will be quite difficult to explain or understand the working of something in the astral plane.

I can vouch for the efficacy of the Kavach having experienced both its negative and positive effects. Four years ago I had a Kavach made for a Scorpio lagna, having been led to believe I was a Scorpio. For Scorpios, Mercury being lord of the 11th house of income, is a benefic and the Kavach added strength to my Mercury. With the onset of my Mercury bhukti (sub period) I went through one of the worst periods in my whole life. Disgrace, humiliation, professional setbacks etc. etc, you name it, it happened, all the negative things that one can think of. The Kavach was supposed to improve matters not what was happening to me. :( :( :( :(

I then suspected that my ascendant may be wrong. I immediately removed the Kavach. I put up my case to Professor Choudhary and going by past events in my life, he very kindly confirmed that I was a Libra and not a Scorpio. For a Libra, Mercury is the most malefic planet. The Kavach had strengthened the MMP and that explained why things had gone horribly wrong for me. I then had another Kavach made for a Libra ascendant two years ago and since then things have been going very smoothly for me. :) :) :) :)
