In January, 1986, I returned to Delhi and the activity of astrological consultations started picking up in my office and also through family and friends’ circles. Most of the people had anxiety and wanted to know about the future. Those suffering from problems were interested in astral remedies for coming out of their troubles.
Let us see the analysis of the birth chart when the Systems' Approach predictive techniques were not there. The lord of the fourth house is placed in the eighth house. The fourth house is occupied by the benefic, Jupiter. The lord of the ascendant Mars is placed in the tenth house and it influences the first, fourth and fifth houses. The Moon is exalted. The lord of the tenth house is well placed in the ninth house. The significator of the fourth and tenth houses, Mercury, is placed in the ninth house. In a question about the career of the child, based on the classical principles, it was predicted that the native could be a surgeon due to the placement of Mars in Leo being lord of the ascendant and also to the lord of tenth house causing a rajyoga due to placement in the ninth house. In the classical astrology lord of the ascendant is always considered as a benefic planet. The child failed in the eighth standard.
Parents were interested in astrological suggestions for improvement in their children’s studies. Lots of consultations were offered. On Sundays and holidays I continued to study. Even the presence of Jupiter in the fourth house could not help. This was the first stage for the evolution of the Systems' Approach technique later on. The native was in the sub period of Mercury. The propitiatory remedies were suggested for Rahu and Ketu and the strengthening of Mercury, Saturn and the Moon were suggested. The native benefitted out of it to some extent.
Let us see the analysis of this chart through SA Predictive Techniques. The lord of the fourth house, ruling school education, is placed in the eighth house and becomes weak. The bad placement of the lord of the fourth house in the eighth house shows obstructions in school education. The functional malefic planet, Mars, is placed in the tenth house and it closely afflicts the most effective points of the tenth, first, fourth and fifth houses. The functional benefic planet, Jupiter, becomes weak as it is placed in an afflicted house. The Moon is exalted but closely afflicted by Rahu and Ketu. The lord of the tenth house, the Sun, is well placed in the ninth house but closely afflicted by Rahu. The significator for the tenth house, Mercury, is placed in the ninth house and it is closely afflicted by Rahu.
Later with hard work and with the help of continued SA astral remedies and use of a Kavach, the native obtained her Master's degree from the University in the first division. The passage of time helped in identifying the correct functional nature of planets, the effective orb for identifying the impact of conjunctions and aspects, etc. etc.
