The inter-relationship of the planets and the planetary
influences are studied through the conjunctions of the planets, mutual aspects of the planets and the placement of the planets in different
houses. The conjunctions and the mutual aspects of the planets are
effective when they are within a planetary orb of 5 degrees with other planets or the most effective point of a house. To analyse the results of a planet in a natal chart we consider its placement which may be either its own sign/house or in the house ruled by some other planet. Of course, no single planet can give results in isolation but the general role of the planets can be considered. While considering the
lordship of the planets we consider only those houses, which contain a moolatrikona sign of a planet. When a planet is not afflicted and being a strong lord of a particular house is placed in the chart one will
experience the results described in the subsequent paragraphs. While
studying the impact of the first lord being in the first house we will also discuss the role of other planets ruling other houses in the ascendant. Similarly, are to be read the results of lords of other houses in various houses.
When a planet is close to the most effective point of the house, its impact is long lived while the impact is short-lived if the planet is not close to the most effective point of the house.
When the lord of the first house is placed in the first house it
bestows good health and social position on the person besides good life span. One has a good initiative in life and is capable of solving the problems of life. The nature of the planet also makes a difference.
The strong lord of the first house in the second house indicates
earning good status in society, wealth and a happy marriage. The family line continues and the person enjoys fame and prosperity.

While reading the results of a particular planet in a particular house one has to consider the lordship of the said planet and the general significations of the said planet.
Suppose Mars being the lord of the sixth house is placed in the tenth house. Mars is a functional malefic and its influence on the most effective point of the tenth house will turn the native short tempered and involve the person in disputes everywhere – at his/her work place, in society and in his/her close relationships, as well. Mars will cause losses through disputes, thefts and fire. Mars here gives the short-tempered nature while the sixth house gives inclinations of conflicts and incidence of losses through theft and fire. Let us take another example.
Suppose Mercury is lord of the twelfth house and is placed on the most effective point of the fourth house. Its impact will cause severe problems in life to parents, loss of assets and loss of mental peace, will delay settling in one’s professional life and will cause inordinate delay in marriage. The marriage may not survive long. Let us have still another example.
Suppose the Sun being lord of the third house is placed in the tenth house and is influencing the most effective point of the tenth house. The Sun rules the house of courage and entrepreneurship and its impact is on the tenth house. Such an influence will make the person an entrepreneur and the person will not only venture into one’s own business but will run it successfully.
