"HOW TO JUDGE A HOROSCOPE FOR ACCUMULATED WEALTH, FAMILY & STATUS"

We analyze matters pertaining to education, accumulation of wealth, continuity of family, status, speech, teeth, face, eyesight, and birth of a male child, etc. from the second house.  The royal planets ruling the second house in strength with strong significators of wealth (dhanakarakas), the Moon and Jupiter, indicate affluent financial wealth to the native, impressive speech, healthy teeth and good family background.  The indications change depending upon (i) the location of the lord of the second house; and (ii) the second house being closely influenced by the lords of other houses.  In case the lord of the tenth house occupies the second house in strength, there can be an increase in accumulated wealth through earnings by profession, and the status of the person may be elevated during the sub-period of a strong lord of the tenth house.  A debilitated planet in the second house or the weak lord of the second house in its sub-periods may make the native vulnerable to relationship and status/job problems.  One may suffer from the dental and throat diseases and there may be separation from the family, if the lord of the second house is weak or afflicted.  For speech another factor to be considered is the planet Mercury, the significator for speech.  The planet(s) closely influencing the most effective point of the second house color the results of the second house with the significations ruled by such planet(s).  Status and wealth is linked with the significations of the house where the lord of the second house is placed.  For example, the second lord going to the tenth house may exhibit a role of wealth in the professional matters of the native; the second lord's placement in the eleventh house indicates income from wealth in the form of interests, dividends or through the help of well-placed friends or elder brother; the second lord's placement in the fourth house may indicate investment in properties and parental assets, while the second lord's placement in the sixth house indicates involvement in litigation with respect to family assets and marital relations; and placement of the second lord in the twelfth house may indicate loss of accumulations and assets during the ruling sub-periods of the lord of the second house.

The close influence of strong functional benefic planets to the most effective point of the second house confers wealth and status to the person.  The close influence of the functional malefic planets may involve the person in scandals and cause defamation.  The second lord being weak along with afflictions to the second house cause harm to physical attributes of a person e.g. vision, speech, facial beauty and cause marital discord.

The malefic influence on this house may inculcate bad habits, as well.  The functional malefic planets ruling royal tendencies and functional malefic planets like Mars and Rahu, etc. give the habits of taking such food, wines and other intoxicated drinks which spoil the physical health of the person.  The functional malefic planets Mars and Rahu may give tendency of consumption of fried food, excessive intoxication and smoking etc. The functional malefic planets Sun, Venus and the Moon may give tendency of consumption of sumptuous meals regularly, excessive use of which indicates rise to diseases promoted by excessive cough, bile and acidity.  If the house is strong, devoid of association of functional malefic planets and is under the benevolent influence of a strong functional benefic, Jupiter, the person enjoys a long disease-free life.

The placement of the lord of the 6th house in the second house or the lord of the second house in the sixth house creates inharmoniousness or separation in marital relationship.

CHART 14: Male born 29th September, 1932, 0500 Hrs. 79E23, 28N21, India.

The second house is ruled by Mercury, who occupies it in exact conjunction with the ascendant lord, the Sun.  The combustion of Mercury has reduced its strength. As both the Sun and Mercury are the functional benefic planets and mutually conjunct, the chances of earning and accumulating wealth increase.  The placement of the Sun in the second house gave good status to the native who served as a principal of a post-graduate degree college and later was elevated to the rank of a regional director of the university.  During the course of his life, the native earned a lot of wealth, was blessed with sons, and enjoyed comforts of a spacious residence, car, etc.  The presence of the fifth lord in the ascendant, and it’s also being Jupiter, linked his career with education.  The native got good start in life from the sub-period of Jupiter in the main period of Jupiter, the fifth lord.  Jupiter's weakness due to placement in an afflicted house and debilitation in dasamsa gave the entry in its period in a private institution.  Mars, occupying the twelfth house in its sign of debilitation, made him reckless in dealing with his subordinates and speaking to them in an authoritative and harsh tone, quite often.  The advent of Saturn's main period which occupies an exalted dasamsa blessed the native with regional directorship even after his retirement for two additional years.  The close influence of functional malefic planets Rahu, Ketu and the Moon in the chart caused health problems to the native, his wife and his children.

CHART 15: Male born 19th August, 1939, 0844 Hrs. 74E40, 30N55, India.

The second house contains affluent sign Libra with Rahu in it on the most effective point and closely aspected by the sixth lord, Saturn, in debilitation.  The weak second lord is occupying the eleventh house along with the weak ascendant lord.  Both Venus and Mercury are combust and weak. Venus is additionally weak as it is in old age and the most effective point of its mooltrikona sign house is closely afflicted. During the favorable main period of Jupiter and sub-periods of well-placed Mercury, Venus and the Moon the native earned and accumulated wealth including the wealth of spouse.  Rahu, Ketu and Saturn closely afflict the houses occupied and aspected.  With the onset of the sixth lord's main period, which occupies the eighth house in its sign of debilitation in exact conjunction with Ketu, it posed obstructions and reduction in accumulations.  Venus denotes income generated from the accumulated wealth as it occupies the eleventh house being lord of the second house and gave inclination to the native in this regard.  The ventures started, though profitable in the beginning, in the sub-period of the lord of the twelfth house in the main period of Saturn resulted in losses by way of loss of crops of precious plantations, loss of property being left unguarded in a disturbed area and thefts in the sub-period of weak and functionally malefic planet, Mars.  The native had to face very disturbing circumstances and undergo lots of unbearable mental tension.  Operation of the sub-period of the lord of the eighth house in the main period of the sixth lord created all types of undesirable situations for the native and brought him to the brink of bankruptcy.

CHART 16: Male born 27th July, 1955, 2230 Hrs. 77E04, 28N37, India.

The native of this chart has the sign Aries in the second house, whose lord is occupying the fifth house in its sign of debilitation and in the state of combustion.  As per lordship, Mars draws some strength from the placement and close conjunction of Jupiter.  Both Jupiter and Mars influence the most effective points of the houses occupied and aspected.  In addition to Mars, Venus, Mercury and Jupiter are also weak due to combustion.  The native had very delicate health due to the weakness of all planets.  The close conjunction of the tenth lord and the lord of the second house in the fifth house indicates mental avocation through which native secured reasonable comforts in life.  The close influence of the lord of the twelfth house on the Moon, gave him tendencies of enjoyment and indulging in intoxication.  The weak position of the lord of the second house allowed a small accumulation of wealth.

The marital relations of the native also remained strained but continuance of family life went on.  The exalted lord of the tenth house in conjunction with Mars in the fifth house provides some strength to the otherwise very weak planetary influences.

The debilitation of the second lord, Mars, and the twelfth lord's aspect to it gave him the habits of regular drinking and excessive smoking which posed a major hazard to the fragile health of the native resulting in persistent general debility.  The passage of Ketu over natal Venus and Mercury in April, 91, gave the native pneumonia of lungs and reduction in income.  His illness of about one month also strained the life of the whole family. The native died of illness at the age of 57 years.

CHART 17: Male born in January, 1960.  

The sign Aries rises in the ascendant in the horoscope. The Sun, Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn are the benefic (favorable) planets. Mercury, Rahu and Ketu act as functional malefic (unfavorable) planets.  Jupiter acts as a Sun-like planet. In this chart Rahu and Ketu are close to the most effective point of the houses of their location and they exactly afflict the houses occupied and aspected and make the person vulnerable to critical illness. They also make the planets Mercury and Moon weak as they afflict their mooltrikona sign houses.  

There is no mooltrikona sign in the second house.  Rahu alone closely aspects the second house and that encourages the aspirations of the native.  Mars, ruling affluence and being prime determinant of professional matters, is closely conjunct with the lord of the house of income in the ninth house.

The well placed functional benefic planets blessed the native with the resources with which the native started an industry.  Saturn, the lord of the eleventh indicating source of income, is rightly connected with the industry.  The eleventh house has the Moon in it.  The native enjoys good life in the matter of food habits and indulges in smoking due to the Rahu's close aspect to the second house.  The ascendant lord and the seventh lord's placement in the sign Sagittarius also gives association with Jupiter, thus exercising restraint on the native's food habits. Rahu is closely influencing the most effective points of the houses occupied and aspected from the house of diseases and poses problems due to heavy smoking and intoxication during its operative sub-periods. Rahu gave a sudden severe health problem and surgery during its prolonged transit influence in 2012.

The Sun is weak, as it is placed in an afflicted house and is closely afflicted by functional malefic planet Mercury, which curtailed support and happiness from father.

CHART 18: Male born 25th January, 1936, 0830 Hrs. 77E18, 30N11, India.

There is no mooltrikona sign in the second house.  The strong Jupiter is placed in the tenth house.  Jupiter rules the eleventh house and its connection with the tenth house shows considerable income through his profession.  Mars and Saturn are closely conjunct and strong.  The native has earned a lot of wealth through his profession and invested the same in properties, which are fetching him income by way of rent.  The lords of the sixth and eighth houses are closely conjunct in the house of losses indicating losses/expenses/litigation and severe health problems during their periods.  The native's venture in the production of textiles started in partnership, however, it resulted in a loss and the native had to come back to management of industries owned by others.  The operational sub-period of Mars in the main period of Saturn gave him initiative and he drew large financial benefits as a managing director of a reputed textile mill.  Rahu, the next sub-period lord, placed in the eleventh house blessed him with fluctuating income, excessive in the first instance.  As Rahu and Ketu do not have any connection with the second house, the native is not given to any vices.  The native started suffering from amnesia in the sub-period of the Moon in the main period of Mercury.
