"MARITAL SIGNIFICATORS & SPL IMPACT OF JUPITER IN CASE OF FEMALES."

The marriage, which is an institution for continuance of mankind, is both bliss and bane, at the mental and physical levels.  In fact, it is one of the major factors for the achievements of any person.  It also coincides with the age group of a person, when he is fit to do anything constructive and at his own.  Before attaining the marriageable age he is in his childhood followed by early youth studying and grooming himself under the guardianship of his/her parents and making himself/herself ready for shouldering the burdens of life and attaining the meaning of his/her life.  The most active life of a person is between the years 25 to 50.  This is the time when one can do anything with zeal and for promoting not only his own generation but for the growth of the society and the world, at large.  He/she requires a permanent partner for deliberations and taking decisions in the form of a spouse, who caters to his/her physical needs too.  The attainments of a person in life are mostly dependent on his/her successful married life.  That is why in the horoscope the house facing the ascendant has been allotted for marriage inter-alia other things.   So, after the house of fortune, ascendant and the house(s) ruling professional matters, which sustain the person, the next in importance stands the seventh house, the house of marriage.  Because only that person, who is blessed with the opportunities of a peaceful and happy married life, can maintain sanity and contribute his/her share for the growth of the society both in materialistic and spiritual fields.  Whether a person will have mental compatibility with his/her spouse or not can be judged by consideration of the relationship between the houses ruling marital affairs and the sixth house. 

MARRIAGE DETERMINANTS

(1)  The lord of the seventh house containing a mooltrikona sign is the prime determinant of marriage.  In case there is no mooltrikona sign in the seventh house, then the lord of the next mooltrikona house signifying marriage (the second, fourth, eighth or twelfth house) is considered.  For each ascendant, the prime determinant of marriage is:-

(2)  Venus and Jupiter are general significators of marriage for males (wife) and females (husband), respectively.

(3)  Marriage can also take place: in the sub-periods of the lords of the remaining mooltrikona houses signifying marriage; and in the sub-periods of the strong planets placed in the houses signifying marriage.  These planets become secondary significators of marriage.

If the prime determinant of marriage and the general significator of marriage are strong and there is no affliction to the most effective points of the houses signifying marriage, the marriage takes place at the appropriate time.  The good strength of Venus hastens the process.  The delay is caused by:

(1)  The most effective points of the seventh, fourth and/or second houses being afflicted.

(2)  The prime determinant of marriage and/or the secondary significators being afflicted and/or weak for other reasons.

(3)  The general significator of marriage being afflicted and/or weak for other reasons. 

(4)  The lord of the fourth house being utterly weak.

(5)  The lords of the eighth and/or twelfth houses containing a mooltrikona sign being afflicted and/or weak for other reasons.

(6)  Whenever the severe affliction involves the seventh house in the case of male natives they lack confidence in their physical power and delay the decision of marriage.

    The influence of the functional malefic planets delays while the influence of the most malefic planet delays inordinately and/or denies.  The inauspicious influence of the most malefic planet cannot be mellowed without persistent performance of the appropriate astral remedies. 

The good position of prime determinant and significator planets with benefic influences on these, provide the native with a timely and happy marriage making life blissful.  On the other hand if these prime determinant and significator planets are weak, they make the marriage baneful on any of the following accounts:

       1.    The spouse may be ill tempered.

       2.    The spouse may have a dull attitude towards the physical relationship.

       3.    The spouse/self may lack good health.

       4.    The marriage may be considerably delayed.

       5.    The birth of children may be delayed/children may suffer illness or early death/lack of progeny.

       6.    Lack of mental compatibility.

       7.    Divorce/separation due to any of the foregoing factors individually or collectively in the unfavorable periods in operation.

       8.    The vacuum in life created by marriage being denied.

       9.    Impact of separation forces i.e. the impact of the functional malefic planets on the houses/significators of marriage.

Cent percent marital bliss is a rare phenomenon.  However, there are cases where the discords in marital affairs are momentary.  The divine knowledge of Astrology can be helpful in avoiding the circumstances leading to the baneful happenings by matching the horoscopes for mental compatibilities, supplementing the planetary drawbacks in the horoscopes of intending matches and seeing whether main period and the sub-periods in operation will have any bad effect on the marital alliance.  Although it is said that marriages are settled in heaven, yet there is tremendous help which can be provided by Astrology in the manner mentioned in the preceding sentence and suggestion of remedial measures for weak planetary combinations as well as for the afflictions of malefic planets.  Advance astrological advice and astral remedies for the impending circumstances provide mental strength to the natives for bearing the tensions and strains.

CHART 52: Female born 20th June, 1943, 0645 Hrs. 74E24, 34N12, India.

The Rahu-Ketu axis exactly afflicts the most effective points of the second, fourth, eighth and twelfth houses relating to happy married life in addition to the close nodal affliction to Venus, Mars and Saturn.  The lord of the house of marital happiness, Mercury, is badly placed.  The lord of the house of family, the Moon, is in extreme infancy and badly placed.  The placement of Jupiter in exaltation in the second house was of very little use due to the utter weakness of its dispositor, the Moon, its placement in an afflicted house, and exact afflictions to other factors brought out above.  The placement of the Sun, the lord of the house of initiatives, has played the role of a sheet anchor in the life of the native in making her economically independent.  Her marital life was of a very short span, completely lacking in harmony.  The native's experience with marriage was so sad that she did not venture for a re-marriage.

CHART 53: Male born 10th April, 1948, 0400 Hrs.

The Sun is the prime determinant of marriage in this case.  The Sun is weak as it is in old age and placed in the second house the most effective point of which is closely afflicted by the most malefic planet.  Mars in debilitation and Saturn, the ascendant lord, occupy the sixth house jointly.  One of the major effects of such a placement in the sixth house is that this person cannot do well/adjust with others including the spouse.  There is no benefic aspect on the conjunction.  The house of family is occupied by the functional malefic Mercury, which besides being debilitated closely influences the most effective point of the second house.  The marriage of the native was completely on the rocks due to long spells of separation and litigation.  During the main period of the Moon the native faced separation, legal suits from wife for criminal charges and finally a divorce suit which was finalized only in the sub-period of Mercury during the main period of Mars.  Because of persistent problems the person's behavior became close to being insane in spite of his being professionally well qualified.  Jupiter's close aspect to the Moon helped in giving him some solace and keeping away from the idea of suicide.

CHART 54: Female born 16th November, 1957, 0810 Hrs. 77E13, 28N39, India.

As there is no mooltrikona sign in the seventh house, Jupiter ruling the second house becomes the prime determinant of marriage.  The most effective point of the second house is exactly under the affliction of the most malefic planet which turns Jupiter weak.  Ketu closely afflicts the Moon and exactly afflicts Venus.  The functional malefic planet, Mars is badly placed in the twelfth house.  The functional malefic planets Venus, Rahu and Ketu are placed exactly on the most effective point of the houses and afflict the houses occupied and aspected.  Saturn is weak as its mooltrikona sign is under exact affliction of Rahu. Yet, Saturn being lord of the fourth house, ruling domestic happiness, closely influences the ascendant and the seventh house which helps to deal with unfavorable influences to some extent.  The severe afflictions involve the planets and houses governing general and marital happiness.  During the main periods of the afflicted Moon followed by the main period of afflicted functional malefic Mars, married life remained full of bickering and the native suffered ill treatment at the hands of her in-laws.

CHART 55: Female born 10th February, 1954, 0515 Hrs. 77E10, 28N37, India.

The prime determinant for marriage is the Moon which also happens to be the most malefic planet.  Mars ruling the fifth house is badly placed in the twelfth house and is weak.  The Moon is close to the most effective point of the fifth house.  The strains in married life developed due to lack of progeny.  Venus, the lord of the house of fulfillment of desires is weak due to its being combust, in the state of infancy and a close affliction to its mooltrikona sign house.  Jupiter, the significator for a male child, occupies the sixth house.  In the sapthamsa Jupiter is badly placed and the Sun is with Ketu. The married life remained troublesome because of lack of birth of a male child.

CHART 56: Female born 10th October, 1945, 2230 Hrs. 72E40, 32N02, India.

Jupiter is the prime determinant of marriage in this case.  Jupiter is weak due to the exact affliction of Rahu and Ketu to the most effective point of its mooltrikona house, combustion and a weak dispositor.  The lords of the fourth and the seventh houses are combust.  The Moon ruling the house of family is debilitated and placed in the sixth house signifying conflicts.  The houses connected with spouse and general happiness are severely damaged due to utter weakness, bad placement and exact afflictions.  For those born in the ascending sign of Gemini the debilitation of the Moon is not conducive for marital happiness as the Moon, being the lord of the second house ruling family, goes to the house of disputes.  The marriage of the native was fairly late in life and her experience turned out to be a case of cheating by the husband; he was already having an affair with another woman and maintained the illicit relationship with her even after marriage.  The native after trying her best to achieve a peaceful married life had to make up her mind regarding a divorce.

Special Significance of Jupiter in Female Nativities

The role of Jupiter in the male nativities is not less important but it does have additional importance in the case of females and more especially in the case of Indian females as it is a significator for husband and male child.  The early life of the female native is conditioned by the status of her parents but life after attaining adulthood, i.e. before and after marriage, is mainly conditioned by the position of Jupiter in her nativity.  We do not mean that the seventh house and its lord do not have any say.  They do have a say along with all the other houses connected with marriage i.e. the houses of family, general happiness, bed comforts and marital tie.  Yet, for a peaceful married life conducive to attainments of a higher order, a strong Jupiter is a must.

 A weak Jupiter in a female nativity results in delay in marriage, lack of or suffering on account of progeny, ill-health, etc.  Such a native herself may lack contentment and kindness and feel dissatisfied if the Sun, too, is weak.

Jupiter is also a significator for discharge of duties and maintaining traditions.  Those natives, who have a weak and/or afflicted Jupiter at birth, find difficulties in conforming to the traditions and discharging the duties expected of them.  If such natives are females and their husbands are of an assertive type, there are more chances of separation and divorce.  The pursuits of life become chaotic and confused.  The natives, themselves, do not understand the meaning of their lives and usually suffer throughout the life.  Jupiter is also a significator of divine grace and its weakness shows the necessity of the same in life very badly.

The remedial measures in cases of such natives give results after rigorous performance and under able guidance.  Such natives do tend towards remedial measures but can be lacking in their regular performance.

By way of a few charts we will see the sufferings caused by a weak and afflicted Jupiter to female natives.

CHART 57: Female born 11th March, 1950, 1408 Hrs. 77E13, 28N39, India.

This lady remained unmarried.  The prime determinant of marriage in this case is the Sun which is placed in the afflicted eighth house and becomes weak.  The significator, Jupiter, is in extreme old age and debilitated.  Though there are other combinations, yet the contribution of a weak Jupiter is one of the important factors.  Jupiter is a functional malefic planet and closely afflicts the most effective points of eighth, twelfth, second and fourth houses.  Main period/sub-period of all planets connected with marriage has not blessed the native with marriage.  All formulae for timing of marriage become redundant if the planets signifying the event are weak and afflicted.  The Moon is weak due to utter infancy and bad placement. Mars suffers from a close nodal affliction.  In this case the native received marriage proposals from widowers or men advanced in age and addicted to vices which were not acceptable to her and hence the result.

CHART 58: Female born 30th November, 1959, 0220 Hrs. 77E13, 28N39, India.

Venus becomes the prime determinant of marriage.  Venus is weak due to old age, debilitation both in the rasi and navamsa charts, weakness of dispositor and being placed in an afflicted house. The most effective point of the ascendant is under the close affliction of the functional malefic planet, Saturn, and this makes Jupiter and Mercury weak.  Jupiter is lord of the fourth house as well as significator for husband.  It is combust, placed in an afflicted house and its mooltrikona sign house is under an exact affliction.  The lords of the eleventh, first and eighth houses are also combust.  Because of the weakness of most of the planets, though married, the lady is not enjoying her marital life due to persistent and chronic ill health of her husband making him totally physically incapacitated.  The placement of Saturn on the most effective point of the fourth house made the marriage inharmonious, as well.  The close affliction of the eighth lord to the lord of the ascendant reduces the life span of the native while the affliction of the eighth lord to the debilitated Moon caused numerous problems to the elder sisters.

CHART 59: Female born 20th July, 1954, 2215 Hrs. 77E13, 28N39, India.

Mercury is the prime determinant of marriage in this case.  The significator for husband, Jupiter, suffers from a close nodal affliction.  The functional malefic planet Saturn, lord of the house of losses, is placed in the house of marital tie while the lord of the house of marital tie is placed in the house of disputes.  The lord of the house of disputes is closely conjunct with the most effective point of the fifth house which makes the Moon weak.  The placement of the Moon close to the most effective point of the ascendant made the native quite emotional and self-willed due to the close influence of the sixth lord on the most effective point of the fifth house.  The native had pre-marital love affair.

The marriage of the lady survived for a period of approximately one year in a state of dissonance.  She was not blessed with male progeny.  Her conduct was one of the main factors of the marital dispute.  The placement of Mars near the most effective point of the tenth house blessed the native with a job.

CHART 60: Female born 26th August, 1955, 1420 Hrs. 75E44, 29N10, India.

Jupiter becomes the prime determinant of marriage.  Jupiter is also the significator for husband and is weak as it is debilitated in the navamsa and its dispositor Moon is debilitated.  The functional malefic planets, Venus and Mars, closely afflict the Sun.  Both Mars and Venus are combust and closely afflict each other.  The weakness and affliction of the lord of the twelfth house robs one of the continuity of married life.  The navamsa ascendant lord, Saturn, is also debilitated in the navamsa and associated with Rahu.  The native was married twice, but the marriage survived only for a few days in both the cases.  Thereafter, all efforts of the parents of the native could not bring a marriage and happiness in her life.  From the 20th year of life to the 40th year she had the main period of combust functional malefic and afflicted Venus.  In this case, no planet is strong enough to bring marital happiness in the face of a close affliction to combust Venus.

CHART 61: Female born 8th November, 1959, 1720 Hrs. 77E13, 28N39, India. 

Venus becomes the prime determinant of marriage and the Moon signifies marital happiness.  This lady was married at the age of 28 years.  The marriage turned out to be totally inharmonious and was disturbed with separation.  There had been no child.  The lord of the seventh house is debilitated and badly placed in the house of conflicts.  The weak Venus is also closely afflicted by the Rahu-Ketu axis.  The seventh house is occupied by a combust Mars and debilitated Sun, the lord of the fifth house.  The significator for husband, Jupiter, occupies the eighth house in close conjunction with the functional malefic planet, Mercury, ruling the house of conflicts.  In the navamsa the Moon occupies its sign of debilitation.

CHART 62: Female born 10th October, 1945, 2230 Hrs. 72E40, 32N02, India.

Jupiter becomes the prime determinant of marriage and Mercury becomes the prime determinant of marital happiness being lord of the fourth house.  The continuity of the family is ruled by the Moon.  Mercury ruling marital happiness is not only combust but is also in extreme old age.  Rahu and Ketu are on the most effective point of the houses of their location and afflict the houses occupied and aspected.  Jupiter, who is the lord of the seventh house, is combust and its mooltrikona sign house suffers from an exact affliction of the Rahu-Ketu axis.  In the navamsa, the ascendant is occupied by Rahu.

The marriage was inordinately delayed and full of tensions and dissonance.  The native was deceived.  Her husband was already involved in a permanent affair with another woman.  The marriage ended in a divorce after all efforts of the native for bringing the husband to the right path failed.

CHART 63: Female born 22nd June, 1966, 0900 Hrs. 77E13, 28N39, India.

The badly placed weak Sun becomes the prime determinant of marriage in this case while weak and exactly afflicted Venus becomes the prime determinant of marital happiness. Ketu exactly aspects the lord of the fourth house as well as the lord of the third house, thus causing afflictions to both planets Venus and Mercury.  The initiatives of the native caused persistent sufferings in life due to failures in all her ventures.  The placement of the Moon close to the most effective point of the ascendant made the native quite emotional.  As Rahu is in degree conjunction with Venus, it hastened the first marriage in Venus sub-period of Venus main period and played its mischief.  The marital alliance ended within a few days.  The native was divorced and remarriage took place in April, 1986.  With the help of astrological remedial measures the second marriage survives in spite of the close afflictions and the weakness of Jupiter, the significator for husband.
