Aries is a fiery sign ruled by Mars, the significator of energy. The Sun, the significator of vitality, is exalted in this sign. Saturn, the planet of lethargy, becomes debilitated in this sign. These factors render the Arians most active, strong, aggressive and healthy in case Mars is strong. If Aries rises as the ascendant, the Ishta Devata would be mother divine, Goddess Durga. Worshipping the mother divine would help in spiritual evolution and in maintaining mental peace. This sign rules head (cranium and forehead) and brain. If Mars and Mercury are strong, the Arians enjoy good health. Aries is a moveable, positive, rajasic, pitta, male, violent, barren and quadruped sign and has strong preferences. Saturn's transit is not inauspicious in any of the benefic houses. The natal Mars in the first, second, fourth, seventh, eighth or twelfth house does not make them Manglik. Budhaditya Yoga i.e. combination of the Sun and Mercury signifying extra-ordinary intelligence, does not show positive results for the native. An Arian with deep combust Mercury means that the Sun forms close conjunction with the functional malefic planet, Mercury, and gets afflicted. Such natives have weak digestion, are not sharp and are impulsive. Since Arians are men of deeds, they believe less in Astrology. The Arians excel in the fields governed by the planet or most effective point of a house forming close conjunction or aspect with a strong Mars in the nativity. The transit unfavorable influences are less. An exalted and otherwise strong Venus blesses them with comforts, visits to foreign lands, residence abroad and wealthy and healthy spouse. An exalted and strong Saturn blesses them with good income, highly placed and helpful friends, good relationships and wealthy spouse. Similarly, are to be read the results of the planets when they are in their signs of debilitation causing deterioration in the aspects signified by the weak planets. However, the significations likely to be promoted get a setback when the concerned planets are weak.

Close conjunction/aspect of functional malefic planet, Mercury, with weak natal positions generates disputes for the significations ruled by those weak and afflicted natal planets/houses. The close affliction of Ketu to a weak Mars makes the native vulnerable to serious health problems if Mercury, too, is weak. Mars occupies the ninth house in close conjunction with the functional benefic Saturn. The functional benefic planets Jupiter and Venus are also placed in the ninth house. The fourth lord is placed in the house of gains and has obtained an exalted navamsa. The Sun is weak as the most effective point of its house of placement is closely afflicted by Rahu from the sixth house. As it is already weak, the Sun becomes afflicted by the functional malefic planet, Mercury. Jupiter, ruling father being the ninth lord, is in the state of infancy and weak. Jupiter is a Sun-like planet in this case. Its presence just near the most effective point of the ninth house provide additional strength to the ninth house and the houses aspected. Rahu-Ketu axis is on the most effective points of the houses they occupy but do not afflict the planets.

The good placement of the Moon in the chart conferred good assets on the native. A well-placed Mars being prime determinant for professional matters in conjunction with Saturn being prime determinant for income in this chart blessed the native with enterprising and industrious nature. The lord of the fifth house, the Sun, is weak as it is placed in the sixth house, its dispositor is weak and it is conjunct with the functional malefic Mercury, which is combust. The lord of the ninth house, Jupiter, is weak as it is combust, badly placed in the sixth house and its dispositor is weak. It becomes additionally weak for being closely conjunct with Mercury. The Moon is weak as it is in old-age and its dispositor is weak. Venus is weak as it is debilitated in navamsa and its dispositor is weak.The Moon is in the fifth house along with Venus.

Except Mars all the other planets lack strength. The native is quite energetic and active due to well placed strong Mars. He is an engineer by profession and is working with the Government. The weakness of the rest of the planets could not bless the native with sufficient resources and happiness. He has meager assets. His son could not go beyond school level. The main period of Rahu was in operation from the 22nd year of his life to the 40th year. The main period of weak Jupiter, placed in the sixth house, and weak Saturn, though functional benefic planets, do not hold good promises in life. Venus, in debilitated navamsa, does not bestow affluent and enjoyable life.

The lord of the ascendant, Mars, occupies the ascendant. Mars is in the state of combustion. The Moon, Saturn and Jupiter are placed in the sixth house, weakening matters pertaining to the parents, general fortune, assets and income. Rahu and Ketu cause mild affliction to the most effective points of the houses occupied and aspected. The functional malefic planet, Mercury, does not form close conjunction/aspect in the chart. The Sun is weak as it is in infancy. The weakness and poor placement of planets resulted in a poor positive contribution of the functional benefic planets. The weakness of Mars resulted in physical weakness. The weakness of the Sun and the Moon resulted in poor resources of parents, problems in education and obstructions in proper development of intelligence. The planets Saturn, Jupiter and Venus are afflicted by Ketu. The child during the opening main period of Mars and following main period of Rahu lacked both physical and mental development. He was suffering from epileptic fits and there were obstructions in schooling. The astral help suggested was for strengthening of weak functional benefic planets by way of a Kavach and propitiating the malefic planets, Rahu, Ketu and Mercury. Because of the weakness of majority of the planets including the Moon, the matters pertaining to prosperity to parents also received a setback with the onset of Rahu's main period.

The lords of the ninth and fourth houses are strongly well placed and mutually conjunct with each other in the fifth house. The lord of the ascendant is also strongly placed in the fifth house. The functional benefic planet, Saturn, is strong and occupies the third house. The lord of the fifth house is strongly placed in the fifth house. Venus is well placed in the fourth house but is combust. None of the planets is in dusthana. Mercury is weak as it is in old-age and debilitated in navamsa. After the opening period of Ketu at birth, the native saw the main periods of functional benefic planets. During the main period of Venus, the native completed his engineering education. In the opening main period of the Sun, which is closely conjunct with Rahu, the native found it difficult to get a suitable job causing uncertainty due to unfavorable transit. Whenever the Sun is closely conjunct with Rahu, one generally gets the problem of hypertension early in life. In this case as well, the close conjunction of Rahu created a lot of tension and difficulty in getting a job in spite of the native being professionally qualified. This fact reinforced by the weakness of Venus delayed the marriage of the native to some extent. However, good planetary placements in the chart fructified to their extent in a more conducive period. The native was blessed with marriage, a son, a daughter, assets, employment, and professional advancement and later held authoritative position with a state owned organization.

None of the planets is in dusthana. Rahu-Ketu axis is close to the most effective points of the houses they occupy. The lord of the fifth house, the Sun, is strong and placed in the second house, ruling status. Saturn is weak due to combustion and old-age. Venus as lord of the seventh house is strongly placed in the third house blessing the native with happy marriage and comforts of life. The lord of the ninth house is in its sign of debilitation but blesses with some benefits by its location near to the most effective point of the tenth house. It also benefits all the houses aspected. The lord of the ascendant is placed in the house of gains duly aspected by the lord of the eleventh house, indicating gains through self-efforts. The native's father had been a Raj Purohit (a learned astrologer in the service of the king) since 1930, but lost the status after 1947 because of the weakness of both Jupiter and the Sun in this nativity. Jupiter is in old-age and the Sun is debilitated in navamsa. The functional malefic, Mercury, mildly afflicts weak Saturn and the most effective points of the second and eighth houses. The sub periods of weak and afflicted planets gave physical problems to the native. The weakness of Jupiter the Sun could not help the native to prosper well in life. The confluence of strong Saturn and Mercury in the second house and Mars in the third house took the native to the study of law. Even this could not help the native well in his life professionally due to the weakness of the Sun and Jupiter. Mars is combust, badly placed and afflicted. The main period of the weak Moon could not promote the affairs. The Moon is weak due to utter infancy. This was the cause of suffering to the whole family. The mother had to leave her job to take care of the child. Father suffered from bad health and losses. He had to undergo by-pass surgery and leave his job. The utter weakness and affliction of the planets governed the events in life. The child died in the main period of Mars and the sub-period of the Sun.

The lord of the ascendant, Mars, is weak due to combustion. It is closely conjunct with the most effective point of the fifth house and the functional malefic planet, Mercury. This affliction by Mercury indicates losses through conflicts and health problems. The lord of the fifth house is placed in the afflicted fifth house itself and is in old-age and suffering from the exact aspect of Ketu from the ascendant. The ninth lord is in the afflicted eleventh house in the state of infancy, and its dispositor, Saturn, is weak being in the twelfth house. The Moon, is closely conjunct with the most effective point of the ascendant but is weak due to the weakness of dispositor.

The Moon and strong Venus closely aspect each other and generate an auspicious combination. Due to the weakness of Saturn and Jupiter, and exact/close affliction to the Sun and Mars, respectively, the native's life had been quite eventful so far as unfavorable happenings are concerned. The native's education was completed in the main period of the functional benefic planet, strong Venus, having close aspect with the lord of the house of education, i.e., the fourth house. The native is an engineer by profession, and enjoys a senior executive's post with the Government. The position of the Moon signifies his status. In spite of the main periods of badly placed planets, the native had been bearing the stresses and strains of life due to the absolute cooperation of the spouse. The strong position of Jupiter blessed the native with a comparatively happy life in the main period of Jupiter. Her son started supplementing the family resources.

Birth: 1st December, 1948  1600Hrs. 77E44, 28E39

The lord of the ascendant, Mars, is exactly conjunct with the ninth lord and is placed in the ninth house. Both of these planets turn weak due to close aspect from Rahu. Venus is strong in the chart. Mars is debilitated in navamsa. The fourth, fifth and sixth lords are badly placed in the eighth house. The lord of the fourth house is in the state of debilitation and combustion. The lord of the eleventh house is weak as its dispositor is weak and it is closely afflicted by Rahu, but occupies the fifth house from where it closely aspects the most effective point of its mooltrikona house. There are mixed influences. The native is an industrialist and earning a sizeable income through his own efforts.

On the other hand, the weak Moon spoiled the happiness on the marital front. The energy provided by Rahu's aspect to Mars and lack of marital harmony turned the native towards intoxication and addiction. The circumstances in life were better in the main period of Venus as compared to the main period of the badly placed Sun. However, the main period of the Moon made the problem areas graver. As earlier indicated, the strengthening measures for functional benefic planets and propitiatory remedial measures for afflicting planets do help. The weakness of the Sun, the lord of the fifth house, has not blessed the native with the happiness of a male child.
